Shame on you AMD, shame on you!

First they disable comments on their deceitful video, now they moderate comments on their deceitful cover up.

Well lets look at Newegg:

AMD FX 8120 is $220 and a 990FX-UD5 is $190 - $410

Core i5 2500k is $220 and a Z68-UD5 is $270 - $490

If I'm on a budget I would get an AMD FX 8120 and use the rest of my money on a better graphics card if I was restricted to buy a Gigabyte UD5 but Asrock is kind enough to make great boards at a decent price with a nice look.

If I was to buy a Core i5 2500k now I'd buy one from Microcenter for $180 and order an Asrock Extreme4 GEN3 Z68 board for $200 - $380

The cool thing about socket 1155 is that I don't need an amazing board to get a great overclock and have to worry about frying my board.

AMD - Lying to their customers, price gouging them, and trying to take advantage of their loyalty.

Intel - Trying to one up AMD every chance they get, including using shady business practices and going after AMD on the business level.

As a consumer, my concerns reside with only one of the evildoers doings.

If you don't need sli there are plenty of 970 chipset boards that overclock well with good vrms in the ~100$ range, like the Asus evo boards.

I'm only comparing Intel's and AMD's top or "enthusiast" chipsets which are the 990FX and P67/Z68 (I don't really consider socket 1155 to be an enthusiast system because it's Intel's mainstream socket) . If I HAD to get a 1155 board/cpu I would go with a 2600k + Asus Z68 Gene-Z but I wouldn't because raising a multiplier and the voltage is boring to me.

The more reviews I read, the more confused I get about what sort of per-core performance BD has...

http://www.legionhardware.com/articl...fx_4170,6.html

If you look at the 4170, it isn't doing too badly for a quad. Now I don't know if the quad core is a 4 module with 1 broken core in each (and so it gets decent results because it's not sharing resources between each core) or a standard 2 module with 4 core version, but there is clearly something seriously wrong with their 8-core version, since with 4 more of those same cores it should still be a lot faster in those games, and yet it refuses to scale up from there. I don't know if it's a software or a hardware problem but AMD need to explain and address THIS first, and fast, if they want anyone to buy any Bulldozer CPUs.

Also if their FX 4170 isn't just a broken 8 core, I may well consider buying it just to see what kind of overclocks I can get out of it.

His avatar and his sig are the kind of things that made JF-AMD rethink about EVER saying anything else to the community.

Thanks for that. Seriously, thank you a lot
