Thanks for that. Seriously, thank you a lot
hmmm ... I'm a fanboy because I waited ALL year for Bulldozer? I was under the impression that those 8 cores would trump the 2600K because they are more efficient than Hyper Threading. Guess who gave me that idea?

As a long time AMD system builder, I'm disappointed with being misled this whole time. I questioned JF-AMD numerous times because his story didn't add up. I also questioned why he kept discrediting benchmarks which we now know were true. This tells part of the story.

Why is he debunking things that are TRUE? Most of the things that were labeled "rumors" were far more accurate then what JF-AMD said to us.

He misled us, continually discrediting benchmarks and performance numbers, yet, you're mad at me for speaking out against it?

My avatar merely describes the launch and performance of Bulldozer vs what we were led to believe. Remember, AMD said that Bulldozer would be the highest performing CPU core in history, in both Single & Multi-Threaded. Perhaps you should be mad at AMD for not delivering on that promise.

About my sig, well, those are JF-AMD's OWN words, it's not like I made this stuff up. Do a search for any one of those quotes, these are the things HE said. So, what's wrong with it?

If it's easier for you guys to cope and be mad at me, by all means. I've been taking heat all year. Yet, this whole time all I've done is questioned the misleading statements he's been giving us.

If he ever publicly speaks on who sent him PM's, ask him if I ever PM'ed him, because I have NEVER PM'ed him ever, everything I have ever said to him was in public.

Nobody was paid by Intel to continually post these statements, AMD's Bulldozer simply did not deliver what they promised, ever thought of that? We now know the truth, though most of us have known for months.

That is all we can say at this point.
These are the types of statements that people questioned. Why are you guys mad at me, when he's the one that lied?

The comment that I posted, here is a screenshot. Tell me, what is so wrong with it? Once again, it states the TRUTH, which AMD is covering up.

Here, I am addressing the FPS numbers they showed for BF3, which were GPU bottleneck numbers.

I wrote 14 words, and the rest were from the Anandtech Review. So explain to me what's wrong with my statement.

Perhaps, if I posted something like this, it would've been approved.

How do I measure a products worth, simple, I get it and run it, if it does what it is supposed to without incident then I am a happy camper. It, for me, has been that way for years with AMD products. Thanks for the hard work and for bringing affordability to my desktop.
Here's an idea for AMD marketing, and their hardware reps.

Don't mislead your customers, and you won't have people like myself questioning the things you say. And I promise, I won't sig you either. I have never lied!

I'll have to agree with 2010rig, because I read the Bulldozer Blog almost every day when new posts came up. I remember almost if not all, the exact words that JF claimed and what 2010rig quoted is pretty spot on. Even myself questioned AMD about the rumor benchmark leaks and JF continued denying by saying "I don't comment on leaks, rumors, etc". So I didn't got there or push to that point.

But then again, when the questions about the architecure came up, JF boldly claimed, 33% percent more performance? And 50% throughput or something like that. So I believed it at first, but then a couple weeks later, I decided to myself, just wait for the benchmarks and see if true. But you guys know the rest...

When they said the future is fusion, They actully meant, 'The future is Fusion', But how did that work out for them?

Horrible, You only ever think of the future when you have caught up to that time in the future, For example, 75% of games will be multi-threaded most likely in 3-6 years time, That is when we need 8-cores to play our games.

On to modules, I think AMD should of introduced that in piledriver, And actually worked with microsoft to introduce module architecture to windows, Bulldozer was to early to start with module design.

Thanks, I'm glad someone doesn't see it as a bash towards JF-AMD, since they are HIS words.

If anyone goes to the BD blog is live, and look up those quotes, they are word for word JF-AMD's words. I only shortened some sentences to stay within the 8 line limit, but the points of each stands.

He won't be posting here anymore unfortunately, it has nothing to do with me, but rather because of the statements he made, when we addressed specific issues. We all had concerns about IPC due to the design.

We all wondered if the "leaked benchmarks" were real, which he passed off as fake. Remember how many Bulldozer threads turned into flamewars over the validity of results, and eventually got closed? I'd say 95% of Bulldozer ended up closed at one point.

We wont see him again. It's not our fault he said those things.

remember he didn't represent AMD he was here on his OWN time. That means those were HIS opinions. Well when you vigorously defend something that much if you're wrong you better be willing to eat some humble pie.

yeah..i'd pretty much bet jf won't show his face around here again..how about this concept? build something useful for RIGHT NOW..i waited a long time for that bulldozer release..got a sandy bridge..still no bulldozer..took the sb apart..put the AMD 965 in a sabertooth..and here i am..o wait..an fx4100 should be delivered today..YaY! (my hopes of killer performance..eh..not there)
and i was on the night jf said ipc would be higher..don't see how this(bulldozer) is marketable on a server side of things..given the power it sucks..my plan=clock the snot out of it til it DIES! then get a 1090t..or go 1366

I don't really blame JF at all. He was likely just giving us the company line, as he knew it.

Just because someone works for AMD, or Intel, or whatever, doesn't necessarily mean they know all the details about their products, or that they can accurately infer wider performance based on the details they do know. This is especially true of areas outside ones expertise.

I do think it was silly to close the various BD threads, and even more foolish for people to assume that leaks were always wrong, or that engineering samples weren't representative of a final product (seriously, think about what mid-late stage engineering samples are for...if they aren't representative, they serve no purpose). Still, I can't really blame JF for that ether, even if he advocated it. JF isn't an administrator or moderator here. The OCN administration made the call to clamp down on the rumors, and it was probably the wrong call.

JF was loyal to AMD an in the process ended up looking like a donkey (Nice word). Sad part is........ his absence will be twisted and blamed on the angry and disappointed enthusiast. I think JF would have looked much cleaner in the whole situation if he wasn't so quick to jump in and discredit the leaked benches, especially after repeatedly stating he could comment on the client side but turn and YELL fake minutes later.
