Thanks for the advise on PSU's. Also found the Newegg PSU Calculator.
I did the following in there:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4
Motherboard : High End - Desktop Motherboard
Video Card - AMD HD Radeon HD 6950 x2
Memory - 4GB DDR3 x 4
Optical Drive - DVD-RW x1
Hard Drive: 7200RPM 3.5" Hard Drive x3
This gave me - Our recommended PSU Wattage: 919 W. So I went with the following as a build with that 919 W in mind.
I added the two video cards for possible future use in the psu calculator. After sitting here looking at all the components I want to get and different combinations with price in mind I came to this build.
AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black Edition Deneb 3.5GHz CPU.
ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3 AM3 AMD 890FX Motherboard.
SAPPHIRE Toxic Radeon HD 6950 2GB Video Card.
CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1600 RAM .
KINGWIN Lazer LZ-1000 1000W PSU.
It all comes to the grand total of $935.80 CAD with tax, shipping and combo prices included. Was aiming for under $1000 on this build, and will prob buy the second video card after Xmas. So does this build look good ? nothing conflicting or incompatible ?
