This setup will do great! Some people suggest the Samsung Spinpoint F3 over the Caviar Black, so just consider that. Other than that, everything is superb

If you're near the Microcenter in NJ you could save some money. You could even consider the 2600K since at MC right now you get $80 off a motherboard when you buy the 2600K so it comes out to $20 more than a 2500K + same motherboard.

Otherwise no real suggestions for changes. I bought the Caviar Blacks before the F3 Samsung drives were out but I think I would also recommend them over the Caviar Black drives because they do come out on top slightly in benchmarks and they're similar in price.

Only you could get $40 off some motherboards w/ the i5 2500k making the difference ~60 (for some motherboards).

edit:
Low profile ram with the Silver Arrow
I'd also go for 1600 RAM since memory performance doesn't scale.
If you snipe some good deals they go for $35-40.
Invest in a higher capacity SSD maybe. or go for the 2600k if you want Hyperthreading..

Unless you're on a paper route budget I wouldn't bother with the lower end boards at MC that qualify for the combo discount when bought with an i5-2500k. I've looked through them, meh.

Yeah i heard about the combo deals, but im set on the 2500k with the asus board and the microcenter is 70+ miles. I already have the board in hand so if i wanted to change my mind its a bit to late either way. The ram im still a little iffy on because im worried about clearance but i did some research and the ripjaws should fit under the fans from what ive read. Ill certainly check with 1600 ram and try to get a larger ssd with some extra cash.

Looks like a good and standard build.
