Sidewinder won't replace a already oxidized Waterblock

Dear Mitch,
What you are seeing is likely oxidation of the copper, a natural process of copper when it is exposed to air.
If the copper does not have a lacquer coating, this will happen no matter what.
The oxidation will not affect performance of the block..

Hey Sidewinder,
I've recently purchased a XSPC Raystorm Intel Waterblock from your website. Once i received it, i quickly looked inside the block if there was any residue, i spotted some residue, i tried flushing it out with my MCP655 Pump and distilled water, but it didn't come out. May I get a replacement? My order number is ******. I've attached some pictures of the water block.

i'm pretty sure rust, oxidized copper, will affect the performance of the water block since it isn't pure copper any more. If it isnt pure copper it would have a lower thermal conductivity.

If it is just the surface of the copper turning blue/blackish, and it is not visible when the block is installed, I'd just ignore it.
It isn't hurting the thermal performance of the block in any way.

Just to let you know, rust is oxidized iron, not oxidized copper:winksmile

The acid in the lemon juice will clean the oxidation off the copper.
There is nothing you can do. copper blocks oxidize. its just a fact of nature.

My enzotech block came to me from my brother oxidized. no big deal its copper it happen's.
