Yea, just use Lemon Juice and if you want to scrub gently with a soft bristle toothbrush - it'll clean up easily. All copper will do that - just clean it and you'll be just fine, no need to call Gary out or anything for it.

A little ketchup will take care of that in just a few minutes. New blocks without coating do sometimes come with oxidation, all it takes is a little moisture and oxygen and any bare copper block will get brown over time.

It also won't affect performance at all.

But it does happen and why nickel plating became so popular.

I dont know if its a wise decision or not but I just use toothpaste with a toothbrush and then give it a great soak cleaning. Always works for me when I work on my water cooled server/media center once a year. That old opteron just wont give in

Ketchup is also a big favorite of people to use for block cleaning.

Think that oxidized block is bad?.......if you have copper pipes in your house ( most do ) you should see what those suckers look like. I'm a remodel contractor and could show you some stuff that would make you sick to your stomach. If the brownish color bugs or worries you , install an inline filter and just check it every once in a while.
