Overclocking my GTX 570 is causing it to crash only in a specific game, why?

Thread Starter
Greetings! I have a GTX 570 SoC from Gigabyte, it came pre-overclocked at 845/1900, so I figured let's bump the clocks and voltage a notch and see how it goes.

I increased the clocks to 900/2000 and 1050mV voltage, run Heaven 2.5 a couple times and I saw no visible issues or crashes, played a couple games of Starcraft2 no issues either, tried some Diablo3 beta and it runs smooth as well however sometimes when I play WoW(I am a Blizzard fan as you have guessed ^^) the screen goes black and I have to alt-tab to windows and manually close the game.

I got a message from windows saying the the GPU kernel something experienced a crash but was able to recover. I have noticed that those crashes are only caused in WoW and only if I have changed the default clocks/voltage so I am wondering howcome I can play other games with no issues and even managed to run Heaven 10+ times so far with no issues whatsoever and WoW cannot handle any change to the clocks?

The card is fast as it is of course and I never drop below 70FPS at ultra settings, but since it's a new card I wanted to crank it up a bit. Any suggestions?

The more stress on the GPU the easier it will crash to test if the overclock is stable I would recommend using Furmark or MSI Kombuster to stress test your GPU check temps too and if it crashes well that overclock isn't 100% stable.
