iOS 5 not Syncing with iTunes

Hello i have recently installed ios 5 on my iphone 4, i back it up and all i have is contacts and i messenger and thats it ?????????? i restored the phone and downloaded ios 5 from somewhere else thinking itunes downloaded a curupt ios and that didnt work, so i uninstalled i tunes and re-downloaded i tunes and that still didnt work, ive even gone to the extreme length to deleting everything and starting all over again but that still hasnt worked could someone please help me it would be very much appreciated.

Ive not done the diagnostics but i've got an iphone with a solid recovery mode screen, i too had it after getting ios5, i too also reinstalled itunes,

I get an error 1604...
