2600K HoldingMeBack

Thread Starter
I have followed a tutorial on Beginner OCing with this CPU and can successfully run Prime95 blend test with the CPU running 4.4GHz.
If I try 4.5GHz I get the BSOD when I begin Prime95 blend test.

The only things I have changed in the BIOS are:
CPU Clock Ratio [44X]
Real-Time Ratio Changes In OS [Disabled]
Intel(R) Turbo Boost Tech. [Disabled]
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) [Disabled]
C3/C6 State Support [Disabled]
CPU Thermal Monitor [Disabled]
CPU EIST Function [Disabled]

This image shows all my information after roughly 15 minutes blend. I don't know which number is my VCORE? My volts? Because there are a few different readings.
With the temps i'm getting I would like to push further but am in need of help please smile.gif.

Basically it is time to start uping the voltage if you want to go any farther.... lol

Exactly what "guide" are you following??

You're only at 1.05v for 4.4GHz. My chip takes 1.33v for 4.5GHz. So yeah, I think that's part of your problem.....

Also, you should turn turbo, C1E, and EIST back on. And use voltage offset to raise / lower your voltages.

Man, wish my chip could go that high on stock. You could probably get some awesome speeds with a minor bump.

Out of interest, which guide did you follow?
CPUVCORE is the number you want to pay attention too. That number goes hand in hand your clock headroom. The higher you go the more you can up the clocks (simply speaking as other factors play a roll). Intel states that 1.5v is max but many people say that 1.4v is as far as they will go for 24/7 use. You're at only 1.06 so you've got a ways to go. Keep in mind that raising the vcore/volts will drastically increase your temperatures so keep an eye on those.

But yea, you're stuck because you're using stock voltage.

He isn't running stock voltage on 4.4GHz; he's on a previous version of CPU-Z that doesn't register and show the correct voltage of Sandy Bridge. Should be on the latest version of CPU-Z (1.58.2). It fixed that bug. http://www.filehippo.com/download_cpuz/

He's using CPU-Z 1.58. (Latest)
I'm also getting low voltages.
