In fact the generation of today doesnt watch TV hardly at all, they get most of their entertainment from the PC and its shifting dramatically towards that.

If your hand bothers you from computer use its because you have improper form.

Most people aren't the competitive type and thats obvious. However people who watch sports realize they cant ever be Micheal Jordan, however they recognize this skill and support the rules and equipment of the NBA even if they cant use them themselves, because they know its the best system. You can play games or sports for fun, but there should also be professionals just like there is in sports.

Your games list is based on the fact that you have used a controller for longer. I played console cuz I didnt really have PC until I was 18. I had played controllers for 13 years or more. At first I didn't like it but I quickly learned and I could never go back to a controller. And I realized how horrible console games are.

Ill say that yes fighters, platformers, and racing are better with a controller than a keyboard. However fighters with an arcade pad, and racing with a wheel/pedals, or flight games with a joystick are superior as far as I know. I even plug in my wired 360 control for those types of games.

None of those games u listed take skill. The only games that really require skill are versus a human opponent anyway.

I mean you can literally play controllers with your face. This quadraplegic gamer called Nomad plays with his face and is actually pretty good. Im not trying to make fun of him but the human face isnt designed to be able to do complex activities. Our hands let us do all sorts of crazy things and controllers just limit that. Its just wrong. Controllers are an abomination of gaming.

See that's you're problem. You are always trying to prove a skill. I don't need to prove my skills to anyone. I know what my skills are. I could careless if other people think I suck. So what? As long as I can enjoy my self why should you care whether I am playing this way or that way? Is my playing with a controller affecting your ability to use a m/kb? Nope. I don't care if I'm challenged or not. I played gears of war on thee easiest setting when it came out. Why? Because I was more focused on the store than my ability to kill something on insane and repeating a section over and over for a non-existent achievement to say i spent time trying to prove I can do something on the hardest difficulty. Now that I know the story I don't mind playing on hardest but I rather enjoy the game for what it is then force my self into a position that will frustrate me and make me not want to play the game.

As for comfort, it doesn't matter how i sit or place my keyboard. I still get a strain in my forearm after about an hour of play. I never experience this problem when typing or doing regular internet surfing. But as soon as I start playing movement and click intensive games like batlefield then I develop cramps. I grew up with a controller in my hand starting in 1991. I played PC games growing up (now 22), but didn't get seriously into pc gaming till around mech warrior 4 and then slouched after that till about 4-5 years ago when I built my current rig.

Because I don't have the same views as you doesn't make me wrong. When I see someone flip out over games similar to the angry German kid video or start fiending for games then I feel sad for gamers. And if you feel the need to be competitive then go join MLG or something. But don't force me to change the way I want to play. I don't dictate how you play you don't dictate how I play. If i want to play with a controller in between my ass cheeks, then let me. It's an easier kill for you. It's more fun for me.

you honestly remind me of a friend of mine, he is passionate about video games. the last time he told me "you just don't understand", i wanted to smack him, but i didn't i told him "you get one free pass to call me stupid or to act like you are superior in some way to me, understood. my opinion differs than yours, doesn't make me stupid or inferior." to this day, he has never beat me at a hand of poker, a game of chess or pool...i've never treated him as inferior for it, but he has the bad habit of doing it to me when he beats me in a fps, what does that say?
It shows that this "PC elitism" thing that's thrown around so often does in fact have some foundation in reality. It shows that some people really do think they're the "master race".

EDIT: I suppose he's the kind of person who thinks we should euthanize anyone who isn't as athletic or intelligent as him, and claims they're selfish for muddying up the gene pool.

I <3 my controller.

My opinion is that aiming with a mouse is much more comparable to aiming with a real gun. I can turn and aim fast while hunting in real life, my experience with console fps make me feel too sluggish (like I'm in slow motion or something).

wut?
how do skills with a mouse/kb translate over into skills with dual joysticks, two trigers and an "A/B" pad....?

that makes no sense man. they are completely different forms of control, no where near the same in any aspect.

i grew up split on controls..i was both a pc and console gamer..until recently i was hardcore keyboard and mouse..and firm beliver in not using a speacialized gaming keyboard..this is mostly due to not having much money growing up ...eventualy i developed mild rsi (repetive strain injury) one day my wrists gave out..i lost several gaming sponsers and had to rebuild the use of my wrists ..there are days where my hand will go numb..(mostly the pinky)...then the xbox 360 came along..the min i used the controller i knew i could play on without worry..not i get a healty mix of both..for fps games i play on key and mouse until my arm goes funny then i bust out the 360 controller kick back and just...relax and play...for racing i always use controller ..steerign is more accurate on a knob then keys..gas and brake reacts better on triggers..rpg are also a controller setup for me...rts is def mouse and key...and (hold your breath and prepare for shock...) wii remote..yes i use a wii remote on my pc..i can kick back point and command casually..so in short..lets just co exist and not start the age old flame war of console vs pc.. peace guys..

Every time people start talking about which platform provides the better gaming experience (which was the discussion to this point), the only leg the console crowd has to stand on is cost, which has *nothing* to do with the gaming experience.

Actually, the discussion to this point was about controller accuracy.
Regardless, cost has nothing to do with gaming experience? Really?
So if a kid can't afford to play games because of their cost, that has nothing to do with his "gaming experience"?
Why do you insist on pretending that cost is ever irrelevant? It's not.

I certainly don't feel either way is anywhere near aiming a real gun. Moving an object across a flat horizontal surface and clicking a button doesn't feel anymore realistic than moving an analog stick in a certain direction and pulling down a trigger.
