"core" temperatures versus "CPU" temperature AMD

Thread Starter
While searching for my answer I found this post. http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...mperature.html it seems by that thread that 70C+ is okay for every day use when your chip is overclocked. 80c when your stress testing. But this is for a intel chip and I don't know if this is an accurate representation of an AMD chip. I have a AMD Athlon II X4 640 and I have it overclocked to 3.3ghz atm on stock volts, My temps idle are 43c on the core 31c on the cpu (based on speedfan and core temp) While stress testing I get up to 64c on the cores and 40c on the cpu. What exactly am I looking at here as for room to OC, The numbers are so far apart.

UPDATE:
Found some usefull info in the post right below this one but I cant delete this sorry everyone.

Tmax for an Athlon II x4 is 71C But your readings seem strange your "core" temps should always be lower than CPU temps. Normally CPU temps are what you should use because people claim that the Core temps are inaccurate and always read low. Download HW monitor and see what it says the CPU temps will be a subcategory of the motherboard and the Core temps will be under the Processor package. The only reason I can think of as to why your CPU temp is Lower is if there is a poor connection to the socket. Since the CPU temp Probe is part of the motherboard that is inside the socket.
