Zotac 580 GTX problems - please help

I just got my first Zotac 580 GTX a couple weeks ago and am immensely happy with it -- that is, until I discovered that it supposedly has trouble in SLI mode - causing major flickering ... Lucily zotac recognizes the problem and will RMA your card with an EVGA branded replacement. I planned on getting another 580 GTX to SLI within a year so this is a major dissapointment. I'm wondering if I'm going to have to buy another 580 just to see if this one has the problem so I can qualify for the evga replacement. Anyone running this brand in SLI?

Also, this may or may not be related or even be a zotac gpu problem: But I also purchased an Alienware 2310 monitor and 3D vision glasses -- I have been experiencing ghosting which is quite bad at times. I spent a LOT of money on this gaming setup and it's somewhat dissapointing that I seem to be having such a degree of ghosting that others tend not to experience so much of. I even notice quite a bit of ghosting in the 3D vision graphic test from the nvidia control panel. I've tried both the latest beta nvidia drivers and the official release. I've tried turning contrast down and also tried 110 refresh rate - nothing seems to help in the slightest.

Could the ghosting problem be a defective monitor or GPU or shutter glasses? 2D seems to be fine except in certain game circumstances I still notice some slight tearing on certain straight edge graphics .. It's not terrible but I may have wrongly assumed the 120 hz monitor would eliminate all the tearing ...

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help and suggestions on these matters.

Edit (thanks for the link) .. I just saw the part of that review showing the slight flaw in the 2310 ...Just trying to figure out if my particular unit is defective. It's the best monitor I've ever had as far as image quality goes. Game play is absolutely smooth save for one instance of minor tearing I noticed -- Anyway, the tearing only stands out as it doesn't happen often at all and I assumed it wouldn't have that issue at all. Do other 120hz monitors have no tearing at all, compared to this one?

So far I've only noticed it on one section of a track in F1 2011.

p.s.
My regret is not being aware of the following monitor before I spent $600 plus tax on my alienware + 3d vision. I would have easily dropped 100-200 more on this bad boy:

If you can overcome the limiting design form flaw of the Samsung S27A950D , you'll end up with probably the best image and 3D experience available ... For a non-active 3D solution , the new LG passive 3D TVs using iz3d drivers on pc seem to be king.

OP, I think I read somewhere that Zotac replaced a guy's GTX 580 with an EVGA unit...but I doubt they will do it for ALL RMAs...did you actually speak to Zotac in regards to getting an EVGA unit? Under what circumstances do you qualify for an EVGA unit, instead of another Zotac replacement?
