Replacement Fan for my H60.

Thread Starter
Can you guys help me with advise about Fans?

I customized my PC on Cyberpowerpc.com. It's pretty decent. Except fans. I dont think they used adeqate fan for my H60. They used the same fan as they used on the case. I took a case fan off an added it to the other side of the radiator, as push-pull (intake). When I was doing that, I've noticed the air flow is so poor, I could hardly tell which side it blows by my hand. Is it normal?

Almost forgot, case is Apevia X-Cruzer 2 and fans are original Apevia fans. I think I need replacement with enough airflow and static pressure (reasonably quiet). I saw the thread on what you guys using, but I really have no experience with this. Some advise would be helpful.

Price, again, reasonably isn't an issue. Thanks.

Gentle Typhoon D1225C12B5AP-15 (1,850 rpm) 120 mm Fans I hear are very good around $20per
http://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products...on-120-mm.html

Also Akasa Viper S-flow 120mm (1,900 rpm) fans which are very good here is a review vs the super silent Apache.

It's too technical... Seems like Viper is better, but Apache's Max static presure is 26.40 mm-H2O... Isn't it most important for radiators???

I put yate loon mediums in my case, about $7 each, gutted my old corsair fan out and used it as a shroud. [fan]<[rad]<[shroud][fan][case] Noticed a good 3c drop under load, not bad for a little mod.

Cool. Got it. Fan-rad-shroud-fan-case. Which direction, intake?

i use gentle typhoon 1850 RPm aka Ap-15, only 15 at frozen cpu

only 50 CFM but has crazy static pressure which is what you want to radiators. In fact, pushes air through radiator better then my 80CFM noctua

Yes, I've heard about typhoon. Am I correct that static pressure is most important for radiator fans?

yes, it is, especially for rads that have really dense fins. XSPC Rasa kits ships with low fin density rads, for those you can use a larger variety of fans . If you have a high fin density rad with a low static pressure fan, its going to do worse then a low fin density rad with the same fan.

So if you spend money on high performance rads, you gotta shell out a bit more for the right kind of fan

Thanks! I will order today. Should I get 2 and put them in push-pull setup? What's better, intake or exhaust?
And also should I use a shroud?
