That is how the silicon guys at my old job did it. They worked in the cubes next to me, it was always funny hearing them all argue about layouts and the pros and cons on every single stupid connection and component on the whole chip.

So, since AMD already has the chip design and everything, and if they wanted to, could they "hand craft" the important parts and produce chips 20% better right now if they wanted? Or would they have to redesign everything again.

-in hopes they can somehow make the next release a bit gooder den dis 1 hurr-

It's my understanding that Amd back when they were killing Intel "Hand Crafted" the cpu designs in house then decided to change things up because it was cheaper this way.

I can only imagine the salary's of the Intel design teams.

I have given up hope on AMD. I will never again buy an AMD chip of a later generation than Ph 2.

Probably somewhere around 500k a year.

haha at the risk of sounding like an Intel Fan boy, I've never found the desire to purchase AMD CPUs. I guess that's going to continue.

Though I am all for healthy competition. AMD needs to bring out their A+ game
