Any suggestions for a aux cable...

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a decent quality auxiliary cable to plug my iPhone into the aux input of my car (male to male).

I would prefer it be retractable. The last few I've bought were $1.50 off of Amazon, but they short out after a few weeks of use. So, I'm willing to spend some extra if it means they will last.

I dont know about retractable ones but I use a thick one I got from radio shack. I've used others (slim cables, retractavle ones, and various others). I find the thicker the cable the longer they last. I got my wife a Monster cable which is great

These aren't retractable, they're fat, and it's long-ish, but I abuse it beyond reason, from throwing them around [and landing on sidewalks and streets.. friends can't catch >_>;], leaving it in my car in direct sunlight where the metal ends become nearly untouchably hot..... and it works perfectly, just as if it was new. Owned it for the better part of a year now

FWIW, I've never had a set of retractable anything last me a good period. Either the spindle goes out, the cable becomes useless, or the heads rip off the cable... :\\

Monoprice retractable black or white aux cable. I've bought a few and honestly the plastic does feel a little cheap, but they have held up to daily use in my friend's and his dad's cars.

Personally, I prefer to use standard cables. Lately I've been building my own, it's really not too hard if you know how to solder. For the price of a nice premium premade cable, you can build a several cables yourself. Plus, you get the added satisfaction of knowing that it'll be a quality cable. If you're interested, shoot me a PM and I can give you some pointers.
