So I wanted to pick the 955 but I found the 965 wish is 10 euros more and running at 3.4ghz compared to the 955 3.2ghz.

Is there any big difference? I do want to overclock it and keep the CPU for 1,5 years.

Like I said its only 10 euro more expensive then the 955.

alright i would say get a 955 becasue iu can hit 4.3 4.4 proboly more with better cooling. but u need a good board to hit that high... get a 990fx chipset if u want high overclocks

Im not that of a OC guy wink.gif, I might go to 3.8 more not. So that ROG MB is still good? smile.gif

If you plan on relying on the stock cooler, I have to say 955 and use the extra 10euros to buy a decent CPU cooler smile.gif

955 can overclock to 4.0ghz anyway just like 965.

Offtopic, sorry but, everyone knows St. Nick was a real guy... tongue.gif

Again, the best bet is a 955 because of it's pure price/performance ratio. It's the cheapest of the Phenom II X4 lineup that offers near or similar overclocking results (sometimes better in a few cases) than the other chips.

And also again, the only pure reason to obtain a higher stock-clocked chip is because of it's ability to clock higher at the same voltage range (roughly 1.32~1.4).

I got a 965 2 years ago, and it's been great. A 955 can also be a 965 with the tap of a button (bump that multi from 16 to 17, and you have a 965).

Don't recommend the PhII 980, though. Way too expensive for the performance you get.
