Circulation

Thread Starter
I need to know how exactly I go about cooling my whole pc. Fans are used for proper air circulation right? Well how exactly does that work and what is really a good way to cool my pc?
I have a mid size ATX all mesh case ( antic lanboy air)
A hyper 212 plus heatsink
And five 120mm fans.
Now, how exactly do I go about creating a good flow? I know there's positive and negative air pressure to either blow hot air out or suck cool air in but how do I prevent pockets of hot air?

Ok that helps. But since my case is mesh, how will that effect my cooling?

Usually having an exhaust fan right behind the CPU cooler prevents pockets of hot air. on mine I have about 1cm between the exhaust fan of the cooler and the case exhaust fan. Also Having a powerful exhaust fan works well because it is more efficient to pull air through the case than to push it through.

Alternatively you can flip that top fan so it acts as an intake and pumps in fresh air for the cpu cooler.

In my case the optimal configuration for temperatures was a positive pressure/flow design.

-Three front intakes
-Frontmost top intake (Blocked the rear one)
-Side Intake
The graphics card and Hyper 212+ (mostly the 212+) pull air towards the back, air can generally only escape out the back. I've also removed the extra PCI-slot covers and plan on cutting out the fan grills when I get the chance. (Especially the rear grill, it only impedes the escape of air)

This, for me, has resulted in significantly lowered temperatures across the board.

There's a whole big thing about cooling this way over here you might want to check out. Which includes some good videos from Silverstone and tons of insightful information from ehume and other users about this type of configuration.

So if I made my air flow like this:

< |__|<.
In a line that would work? And what about the sides of my case?
If I used strictly positive air pressure though, wouldn't that make pockets?
Â¥
>. <
^
So where the arrows all point. That would have hot air wouldn't it?

Can you post a picture of your case?

I would just put an exhaust fan and an intake fan were you see fit.

You mentioned the air boy. I'd setup the fans like this on it since the case is modular.

Sick photoshop skills incoming.

its kinda hard to tell because i used a giant brush size, but the exhaust is top and rear. Assuming that you have that case.
