Budget Card (UK market)

Hi,

Sold my gaming PC to pay bills last year. Been running an old P4 box with 1gb RAM since then. Even resorted to stealing my parents' GeForce 7300 LE.

I have a little money now, and still have my games on Steam so have decided to improve the key specs so games are actually playable. To give some idea of the kind of level I'm aiming for, the most demanding games I will be playing are COD4 & MW2.

I've ordered an Intel E2180, as my motherboard isn't compatible with 45nm and at 20 quid it's a bargain. Also got another stick of RAM to get me to 2gb.

Now i'm looking for a budget card (preferably from ATI, as I'm familiar with the drivers and utilities) at a max of £50.

I looked at the Spring 2011 charts on Guru3D and saw ATI's HD 5670 w/ 512 Mb managed to pull 41 fps at 1920 x 1200 max settings w/ 4x AA on MW2. I'd happily sacrifice res, AA or textures to hit 50/60.

I've found a HD 5670 1GB version here for £45 w/ free shipping and was wondering whether this is a good deal, or whether there is a better performing card for less elsewhere?

It looks to be a passive cooling solution, is this a problem?

I should probably say I'm also not too fussed about DX11, as any game that supports DX11 is unlikely to run on an E2180 (right?) so if there's a faster card for a similar price from the HD 4*** line let me know.

Many thanks for any input,
safe

I wouldn't go for a passive card, as soon as you play games on that it would rocket.

Have a look on the market place here?

Didn't think of that, will have a look now, but I've read before about a 35 rep minimum, or does this only apply to selling an item?

Cheers

Had a look through the marketplace. Found a 4850 going for £35 that would have been perfect. Sold a week ago though.

How often to low end/older cards come through the marketplace?
