New computer build need WC assistance

Hello everyone.

I am one of the few that took the bulldozer plunge. After I clicked purchase I decided I should rebuild my system.

What I have right now:
Phenom II X3 720 (could only OC this to 3.2 stable)
Asus M478T-E
G-Skill Ripjaw 1600 16GB
AMD 5870 GC
H60 CPU Cooler
Some cooler master case

Here is what I currently have planned:
FX-8150 I would like to overclock this, maybe to 5ghz if I can
Asus Crosshair V
Same ram
AMD 6950 GC
Custom watercooling
HAF X case

I have never done custom watercooling. I want to make sure the stuff will fit nicely in my case, and look good. I noticed people were getting the RS360 WC kit (http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/xsra750rswak1.html) but I am sure there is more I need to get with it. I read some noob guides that really just helped me understand some lingo.

I want to have a set up similar to http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...ml#post8511172

But I dont want it to look like http://www.overclock.net/10062603-post7919.html

I want it to look good and function well. I can spend 500 bucks on this tho. I am wanting to do a black and red theme, kinda tired of blue and black.
Any help or advice is great.

Do I need to get stuff like the koollance quick disconnects?http://www.koolance.com/technical/qu..._fittings.html

Is there a cheaper more stylish and functional alternative?

Also how do you make the radiator look like this http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...l#post13792703
just put tubing in it?

Can I ask why you are not going for 2600k or 2500k?

The RS rads are too thin for my liking and the thin density is high too so you need powerfull fans to get anything out of them, the RX 360 kit would be the best bet in that case.

However If you want custom I will gladly assist you to blow $500

A couple reasons, I already have the Crosshair V and I really just really have this urge to play with the BD.

Whats your thoughts on this vs the black ice one I read about?

Any thoughts using the koolance quick disc instead of the normal barb? I just dont know if I want to spend 30 bucks for each end of a tube with the koolance qd.

Will this GPU block cover a 6950 the same as a 6970 since it just says 6970?

Depends on the fans that you are using, if you want a silent yet effective wc loop go for the RX, if you dont might the extra noise then the black ice will beat the RX.

I just use rotary fittings and then unscrew the barb from the res in to a bowl. I wouldn't ruin the aesthetics of a loop with KDs.

Yes, the reference 6950s and 6950s share the same PCB layout.

The 1/2 inch barbs are sold out in black so I was looking at this compressions fitting.. they do the same thing right? http://www.frozencpu.com/products/10...MBCPF-CC4.html

That particular one would work with this tube.. at least I think from what you gave me in sizes http://www.frozencpu.com/products/82...?tl=c99s809b46

Only curious if they would fit together now, figured out that I want compression fittings

I think you need more then a thick 360 to get the most out of the FX-8150 as you are also cooling the graphics card.
From what I'v seen/heard the FX-8150 runs very hot when pushed to its limits. I would get at least a additional 120mm rad. Of course you can run the single 360 in push/pull and high rpm fans but that would bee quite loud.

Yea, Im not a fan of having a turbo jet fan in my computer. I may just try out a single rad and add another if I need to.

You get some 1/2" barbs in the kit, 6 I would think however they are chrome.

These are the compression you would use if you want to go down that route.
