That sounds normal to me.
I worked for a little mail-order catalog company called Mindware as a temp employee to help out for the Christmas rush. So in order to be ready for that, they allowed us to start in like August or something. I stayed until mid-January.
During my time there, I learned that the USPS can be a bunch of lazy pieces of you-know-what and they will
hold a package until the very last possible day because "Oh, well we have 4-7 business days and we're only on the 4th business day..."
or something like that. Except, our expected USPS delivery time was 7-14 business days! So it was even worse: "Oh, we're only on the 7th business day, so we still have 7 more to go..."
I refused to believe it until I dealt with about a half a dozen customers where it was painfully obvious that the USPS was taking their sweet time because they were still in the 7-14 business day window even though those bastards could've had it delivered in about 2-3 days flat. Calling them over the phone was a nightmare too, and some of our customers even said so (like, I had a few irate customers telling me that the USPS employee they got on the phone was the rudest piece of trash they'd ever talked to).
