I've got an Incredible S and people keep asking if it's a Sensation, even when looking at it... When people are THAT bad at recognizing products, I fail to see how this test was relevant. I get the "people can mistake one for the other", but they do that no matter if the products look alike or not.

It's a touch screen. Remove the border, now how do you hold on to it? This is another reason the patent is so stupid. The border is an absolutely vital part of a tablet.

Sure the Galaxy tab is different from the iPad, but from Apple's point of view, it must be quite annoying to see such a product happily competing with theirs. Apple took the risks and the R&D and Samsung just took advantage from that.
You can't really deny that.
But Apple still won by getting the early buyers and their iPad is still the better tablet in many people's eyes. Competition is good. Did iPhone tank because Android phones started competing? No, 'cause people love the simplicity, design and software. Will iPad tank because there are competing Android products? No, 'cause people love the simplicity, design and software. I saw a comparison between the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the iPad on TV and their conclusion was that the iPad was simply more thought through and smoother. It was pretty easy to see that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 lagged a bit. Apple has a product that is in many ways superior to it's competitors.
