Clearly this proves one of them completely stole from another's design!!

EDIT: in fact, are those even TV's?.......OR ARE THEY SAMSUNG GALAXY TABS?!?!
The bottom bezel on LG displays are thicker than the ones on the other three sides, i.e. the right is the LG.

This is the problem with lawyers, and why Apple wins this crap. Nobody in the courtroom knows anything about the subject they are deliberating on, but they all know about the iPhone and iPad, because of Apple's marketing campaigns.

The judge should hold up an iPad and an Archos tablet and then ban Apple from the US when Apple's lawyers fail to distinguish between the two.

This is quite dumb. I actually was just in verizon, and walked over to the samsung tablet, and I agree for the first second I thought ohh iPad until it took me one second to realize oh no button on the bottom. Didn't even need to turn it on and I could tell it was no ipad. Now really who cares, every person who is too incompetent to not be able to tell the difference is probably going to realize real fast the difference when they touch the screen and the android interface starts up. I mean if its not obvious enough by then, then I think we just have proof that this person doesn't care anything about the tablet except for the name brand that is on it, and obviously then this person and apple has other issues. If apple said they had future plans to use android on their tablets, which they never will do, then maybe they could have a legitimate case, but other then that I see nothing wrong with what samsung did its so obvious is that they were trying to make a simple tablet just like apple, it just somehow is actually simpler and it caught apples attention. Its obviously not an ipad, and the only way apple and government should have the right to restrict this from the U.S. is if they believe that the android O.S. and apple O.S. is too similar to distinguish from. Then apple would have a case on all androids being restricted in USA. Otherwise apple needs to get a life, all this is doing is if successful is proving apples O.S. is too indistinguishable to the average user and the only real purpose of apples ipad, is the brand name and look over functionality. Honestly though I think the people in the court are just fools and if we did the same test in almost any area every one would pick up on the difference in seconds.

Why can't company excluding apple make a table let with no boarder, is it possible? Take this image for instance just take off the keyboard and expand the screen with no boarder to 10" or so, it will look so much better than the iPad. IMO at the lease lol.

You can clearly point out the differences between those two. But there's not much between the ipad and galaxy tab. Even if it's just a plain rectangle, that's Apple's design and they got it patented. I'm a fan of both companies but Samsung should have come up with a different design. We all know it's a dog eat dog world and you do what you can to stop your competition. Even if it's unethical, it's business. Samsung should have made it like their tvs with the sharp edges and transparent bezel.

Just understand that:

-Apple created the tablet market with the iPad (they did not create the first tablet at all, but the first really mainstream one)
-Samsung without taking the risks Apple took just released its version of the iPad to get a piece of the cake Apple made.

Sure the Galaxy tab is different from the iPad, but from Apple's point of view, it must be quite annoying to see such a product happily competing with theirs. Apple took the risks and the R&D and Samsung just took advantage from that.
You can't really deny that.

But hey I'll just get buried under a few pages of Apple hate.

I've got an Incredible S and people keep asking if it's a Sensation, even when looking at it... When people are THAT bad at recognizing products, I fail to see how this test was relevant. I get the "people can mistake one for the other", but they do that no matter if the products look alike or not.

It's a touch screen. Remove the border, now how do you hold on to it? This is another reason the patent is so stupid. The border is an absolutely vital part of a tablet.

But Apple still won by getting the early buyers and their iPad is still the better tablet in many people's eyes. Competition is good. Did iPhone tank because Android phones started competing? No, 'cause people love the simplicity, design and software. Will iPad tank because there are competing Android products? No, 'cause people love the simplicity, design and software. I saw a comparison between the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the iPad on TV and their conclusion was that the iPad was simply more thought through and smoother. It was pretty easy to see that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 lagged a bit. Apple has a product that is in many ways superior to it's competitors.

Do you realize how unknowledgeable some of you guys sound?

Mostly you don't know anything about the law, IP, judges etc.

Yet, it's the "judges don't know anything". "This is what's wrong...", "paid off..."

It's one moment in a IP proceeding, it' doesn't decide the case. It's funny, it's very telling but its just one moment.

You guys think you have a whipping boy in Apple, everything case that samsung loses, and every case that Apple wins, even in different countries, shows how wrong the courts are.

It's never anything like....

Apple took all the risks, got there first, they patented their improvements on prior inventions, and the design, and basically told everyone if you come up with your own tech fine, don't steal ours.
