10 year old computers vs ones today

Thread Starter
Hi!

So I have my old 10 year old Intel computer which I bought with 250 MG of memory and now only has 500 MG of memory. Although I only use it for banking and surfing stuff on the web, it has lasted me through a lot. It's pretty slow now, but, still on its feet

Just wanted to see your opinions on why computer parts aren't lasting as long ect.

Up until the 12th of this month parts were being innovated very quickly to compete with other companies.

I have an old Gateway from around 2000 or 2001. It has Windows ME lol so it sits in the basement gathering dust. I still have my trusty old socket 939 Athlon 3500+ running though. I've had to recap the mobo but it still runs fine.
