HELP, im dumb

Thread Starter
So recently i got some thermal paste on two of my pins and i got most of it off with some rubbing alcohol, but there is a little bit on what im assuming is pcb. I cant reach it because of the pins. Will this cause any problems when i put it into a mobo?

Thanks
-Zombii

It could. I would try my best to remove it. Try to blow it out with compressed air.

what kind of paste is it? if it is ceramic you should be fine if it is metallic its iffy. you could try pressing it into a soft sponge or cotton ball. hopefully the cotton or sponge would get up to the pcb and take some of the thermal compound. you could also let the chip sit rubbing alcohol over night, then try the cotton ball.

I was about to suggest letting it soak in alcohol also. Easiest way to ensure you don't bend any pins.
