October Foldathon - Target achieved! [Stats and prizes posted] - Page 20

Question: Does anyone know how long it takes for your username to be added to the spreadsheet on the front page? Should I resubmit my signup?
If you've already submitted it then it should be fine. If you don't see it by tomorrow then you might PM zodac about it.

Hmm it's been a while since I set up another client apart from my own. I never knew of this feature.

Why would not setting it to advmethods steal CPU cycles?

Worth doing on my 470? Or is this just an issue with 580s?

advmethods folds almost exclusively on the GPU, using minimal CPU clock cycles. If you don't have this flag set, the WU you pull will use more CPU clock cycles along with the GPU (it is just the type of WU that the client pulls and how that WU is setup to process on your system).

And yes, it is worth doing, as advmethod WUs get slightly more PPD than standard WUs (however, they will cause your GPU to generate more heat, at least that's what I've seen on my GTX460s). Also, if you fold on your CPU as well, having the GPU WU use less clock cycles will give you more PPD on your CPU client as well!
