Nope. During FAT Deebs will do even more

I feel bad for not setting up a VM with Linux and getting a hugeadv to drop for FAT. At least there's next month
post #332 of 902
Just how much better does linux SMP fold compared to Windows? I thought the Windows client was getting along these days?

Similar for SMP; a noticeable improvement in Linux for -bigadv/-hugeadv.

Technically -hugeadv is just -bigadv with mroe threads needed. So the same would apply; the a5 core is better in Linux than Windows.

My findings is that even with regular SMP there seems to a noticeable diff, I got a few more k's when going with a VM instead of W7 client. Running a X6@3.7G.

Haven't compared my X4@2.9 back to back (Linux vs Windoh's), but it seems to get a bit more than other X4s at same/higher speeds. Mine is running native Ubuntu.

See, I think that's down to the OS just being less bloated than Windows. The a3/a4 cores for Windows and Linux have similar performance; it's the a5 core that is actually optimised for Linux.
