But, did you install the GTX 580? I have a hard time believing it plays like a bag of "potatoes". I have GTX 570, currently waiting for my Step-Up to 580 to be approved, and I can play Crysis just fine at 1920x1200. This could also be a big confusion because I may not understand how a bag of "potatoes" plays. I apologize in advance if that's the case!

Pre-ordered the Recon3D Fata1ity version from Amazon (they don't charge until it's shipped, plus can't beat that free shipping + no tax).

I was very, very happy with the quality of my X-Fi Titanium Fata1ity Pro (which I snagged from another OCN member for like $70), so I expect a lot of room for improvement here Passing off the X-Fi to a friend and will be testing the Recon3D as soon as I get it....from some sites i've read, they're using the EXACT same front panel I/O for the Recon3D as the ones for the X-Fi Titanium, so this works perfect for me. thumb.gif

Hey, quick Question!! Do you happen to know where I can get a front panel I/O for my X-FI Fatality Pro 7.1? Got it from a friend, but it comes with no drive day IO thingie...

Thanks!

Thanks!

The I/O panels are pretty much impossible to find outside of someone who bought the Champion Edition wanting to sell theirs, as that was the only way the front panel was sold.

I actually bought my X-Fi Titanium Fata1ity Pro from an OCN member for VERY cheap, and then convinced another seller (also on OCN) to sell his front panel and card separately (he was originally selling the Champion Edition as a package with the card and panel but he ended up selling me the panel and the card to another member).

Your only chance is to get lucky on eBay/Craigslist/OCN marketplace, and also Creative will at somepoint in the future sell the Recon3D Fata1ity card with the SAME I/O Panel, so that would be another route (though I would keep that package and sell the X-Fi).

Have that in a clip-on mic or headset and I'm sold.

Under 60 min with max in game settings ~ bag of potatoes. Basically the majority of fighting happens around 40~45. It needs to be happening at 60+.

With the current suport & drivers provided by the Creative .... I would go Auzentech any day. I had 3 cards from creative and after my last (that is X-Fi platinum champ edition) I will never go back to this company. If you have money go for onkyo amplituner + q acoustics 5.1 and this will hold for another 15 years ....

Pardon my ignorance, what's so special about the front panel aside from rarity?

i hope this isn't as good as HD...or big time buyer's remorse.
