I think we're all aware of this tongue.gif The software between Titanium HD and recon 3d is the same. However recon 3d has THX Trustudio pro as baseline, which lesser x-fi models don't have -- and it has the improved sound chip as well.

For sure the titanium HD is better than any current recon3d. I think i'll wait this round until a suitable core3d based titanium HD replacement is released smile.gif

I don't own a Soundcore3D SPU

I got all that information from the creative website lol

If I did have it I would be bragging about how my soundcard can handle 600 Ohm Headphones while you can only handle ~333 Ohm Headphones

Personally, though the highest amount of Ohms I have seen is 70-75 Ohm Sony/AKG headphonesand my current headset is only 32 Ohm....

I have no idea what the Ohm does in audio....I know it is resistance for something

Beyer Dynamic DT 990 Premium have a 600 OHM model wink.gif The 880's do too if I remember correctly. HD800's are 300.

Ohm is just a unit of measure to describe the quantity of impedance/resistance that the equipment has.

I guess you just really hate creative labs! thumb.gif (better grammar next time though)

Which part you did not undestand ? I could nbot quete seron correctly i know while i deleted pictures something went wrng and could nbot fix.

ILl explain step by step; seron showed a picture of recon3d console and told
1- it has whatuhear and voice efects
2-It has improved ADC

I tried to say
ADC 1-I have excat same options in my x-fi titanium pci-e
2-It has nothing new if you look to firingsquad link http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/auzentech_x-fi_forte_review/ youll see x-fi cards had this with WM8775 ADC already ,nothing new unlike seron saying. And am i putting all problems out of my leg ? Check creative forums a and remember google is your friend .

What i understand why are you defending creative and impliying me a to be a lier , all creative pci cards very picky with irq, nothing new here . And i said pci-e bus gave creative a new chance because it does not share irq =end of the irq problems .remember there are pci x-fi cards out there and people having/had problems

What about this titanium HD http://forums.creative.com/showthread.php?t=696453 tongue.gif ,if you want to see problems go to official creative forum ,youll get real picture what people experiencing.

You wouldn't want to run 600 ohm headphones off of any sound card.

I think what he's trying to say is that your English/grammar is bad, and he's correct, it's pretty bad. I'm going to assume that English is not your first language?

Sheesh, sound card discussions seem to be more hostile than those about other components.

Anyway, I thought I would report on my experience with the Recon3d PCIe, the non-Fatality version.

First off, I bought it due to a need for a PCIe sound card, since with my motherboard's current configuration, my previous X-Fi Xtreme Gamer PCI card wouldn't fit (yes, I realize there are X-Fi cards that are PCIe).

Overall, I'm reasonably content with the card, worked right out of the box. However, I definitely wouldn't say that it's a quantum leap over any X-Fi cards, certainly not a lot more than the Xtreme Gamer.

The biggest difference I've noticed is much better positional audio in games, especially with stereo headphones. It's much more precise and noticeable. In BF3, I found myself actually reacting more to sounds coming from certain directions.

Overall sound quality doesn't seem any better really, though it's certainly good. Currently the only issue I've experienced is crackling and distortion coming from some channels. I've swapped out satellites to test for this, and it's the sound card causing it or possibly my amp, but there were no problems with the previous card. Also, if the EQ overall output level is raised too high, it causes wild volume fluctuations and signal delays.

And strangely, there are no driver downloads at Creative's website for the Recon3D, so that makes me wonder if they aren't totally confident about the included drivers. That and the fact that they don't seem to have distributed review samples adds to the weirdness.

So, if you're happy with your X-Fi card, then the Recon isn't a must-have upgrade necessarily.

And of course the jury is still out since I've had the card for two weeks, but I have put it through its paces.

I have investigated this further and it does seem that the recon 3d is a downgrade from the x-fi titanium or x-fi titanium hd.

It does not support any of the cmss positional sound stuff that made the x-fi great, and does not support 7.1, ASIO, or CMSS3D / X-fi crystallizer. Also has a slightly worse SNR. The recon 3d certainly is a good card and an upgrade from motherboard sound, but its simply not an upgrade for an existing x-fi platform.
Now the one thing better with the recon 3d is the mic input and self powered headphone amp. The line in is *much* clearer than any previous soundcard i've used.

Other than that -- In short, the titanium HD is still the card to get thumb.gif
