Both barbs and compression fittings will look good if you put the time and thought into the work.

Seriously, can't imagine how long you had to struggle even after heating them so they could stretch.

Me personally, I run barbs and clamps. It can look good if you put some thought into it.

You have no idea. One of the times when being a rock climber comes in handy; strong fingers which are used to punishment.

I have barbs now, and I just ordered compression at a good price. I am almost positive I will be happy about this. I wanted to change my loop a few times and getting tubing off of the barbs can be a major pain.

I'm a rock climber also so the finger thing I understand. That's not the part that would bother me, more the time and frustration that would result.

I have 7/16" tube over 1/2" barbs right now....so hermmm
making having second thoughts about grabbing compressions instead...

any $ that can be saved I'd like to save if possible

honestly i'd want to do the 5 pound load test, like they do fro crimped connectors

if it can hold up the 5 pound load(i know the tubing would stretch) without the barb coming out i'd gladly run with out clamps, but i need to get some fittings and tubing before i say it will or won't
