Quick question about GPU size and power draw.

Is it correct to assume that because GPU size will be getting smaller, that power draw should also go down? The next generation of video cards, between Kepler and the 7000 series, should use LESS power than their predecessors, correct? Not to stir up speculation, I'm just wondering how the formula goes.

Generally with a die shrink they become more energy efficient. So yes, they should draw less power for the same amount of performance.

I think it's fair to assume performance-per-watt will continue increasing. To put that another way, the same performance should be attained with a lower power draw than the previous generation.

That being said, it's clearly a complicated matter and I'm no engineer. But as die size decreases and transistor count and density increases, better power scaling ought to be a result.

Mostly true, As they have die shrinks, They become more efficient and cooler.

The also will have higher clocks and will overclock higher.

Today's GPUs use the 40nm process, Kepler and SI will move towards the 28nm process, With this, You will see higher overclocks possible
