You just need to take the number 1 posotive(+) pin/wire and splice that to your +12V and the number 3 (-) and connect it to a black ground. The number 2 pin could be connected to a blue RPM wire, but it will give a high reading. As a guess, I would esimate it's about 6X too high.

Yellow from a PSU is normally 12V, red is 5V if connecting to a molex:

A fan is different though, this is the normal convention:


So you would want to take the
#3 or (-) to GND
#1 or (+) to +12V
#2 to (Sensor) = #/6=RPM
