so I don't know what is the benefit of installing a monitor driver, just plug the monitor to the computer and it works, so why both messing around with the drivers.

they basically tell your OS's display driver what resolutions it can handle, as well as its refresh rate.

modern display drivers automatically retrieve this information so monitor drivers are kind of obsolete in that sense.

Not 100% sure but I think its also useful in color matching profiles when using for photographic applications.

In terms of gaming and general use I dont think its any benefit at all. Some monotors are plug and play and get correctly detected anyway.

the zr30w the drivers checks your os and graphics card and calibrates accordingly.

i remember being so excited and just plugging the monitor like i do other monitors and off i went to the web AND being very disappointed on first impression.
'took me a few days/weeks to read the manual and install the monitor the right way and my experience has been a lot better.

the zr30w being simplified with drivers makes it less prone to hardware failures or problems in general the and lower input lag.
