help with asus rampage 3 extreme

Thread Starter
hi , it might not be the right place for this question and it may sound crazy but:

i changed my deluxe v2 to rampage 3 extreme, so since then my cpu (980x i7) dosnt go into power save mode, or economic mode, i know the MB is a oc one but, i had to buy a better mb but. i dont understand the bios settings. if i leave everything normal, cpu/z shows no change , i used cpu/z thaat come with rampage cd, and downloaded cpuz, i want someone to confirm me, if i leave everything to auto if my cpu goes to powersave mode, becasue aida64 show that when cpu is inactive it scales down to 1600 or 1700, also, core/temp show a down scaling, but cpuz dosnt, so i need to know if, this MB keeps my cpu loaded at 3333mhz (or 3400 or whatever)and scales down when not, by default, or i have to do something in bios. all this is because i dont wanna overclock, deluxe v2 was diferent. it was going power save mode everytime i wasnt doing anything , but this one dosnt.
i have tried to read about this issue , google it, or this forum but i havnt found anything,

I have the exact same board and CPU. If you leave everything stock in the bios, and it's shows that it clocks down in aidia, then it should be right. I go with what aidia shows, but thats just me.If you need any more help with your setup feel free to ask.

I agree with Nyghtryder 9, if Aida64 shows it down clocking while at idle then it is.

Have you tried the latest version of CPU-Z?

I know when I reset to default, which sets CPU to auto, my system throttles down with speed Step. I sould think that is the norm. OP, what bios version are you running?

hey, i am running the last version. 1401, and yes i was running the last cpuz version,
so if aida shows downclocking the cpu it is downclocking, i hope so, cuz, before with deluxe v2, all software was shoing the same thing, but this time, cpuz is not, bot all other softs are showing that i wanna see, (downcloking) i hope only cpuz is wrong . anyway i guess this MB is made for OC not for servers who need powersave mode on when not used. i get what i pay for .
which MB you recomand for a workstation pc. i7 , with sata 3 etc,(not gaming one, like rampage ) ?
