i7 2600k+z68x-ud7-b3+antec 920 kuhler overclocking help please!!!

Hi everyone i hope some one can help me. Im hoping some one has the same set up as i do. and im just wondering what kind of overclocking results they are getting with their set up and how much voltage and what temps they are getting .

I am currently running at 4.5ghz with the voltage set to 1.365completely stable with no other adjustments made. Idling temps vary from 30-40 degrees and load temps on prime95 dont go above 70. Temps while playing games vary between 45-50 degrees.

i can get to 4.8ghz with 4.8ghz and load line stepping at level 7 with core voltage at 1.375. How ever with this increase in voltage and load line stepping temps at idle are around 40 degrees and prime95 temps get around 80 degrees.

Also do use believe the temps and voltages for both set ups are way to high or acceptable?

thanks gliggo

that sounds a little high for 1.375v even with llc level for the kuhler

have you checked vcore if it increases with load? i don't remember which level it is on ud7 but there should be one where it will actually overshoot by quite a bit. Sin0822 is the one to contact about gigabyte problems... if you have a digital multimeter he can tell you where to place it to measure vcore.

have you checked the spread of the thermal paste? what does it look like.. picture?

EDIT: here is sin's page: http://www.overclock.net/member.php?u=145269

its a massive difference when i compare it to the 4.5 settings in bios almost 10 degrees difference. and i dont have a digital multimeter which will make things even harder. the vcore under load doesnt change all that much. in cpu-z it shows the vcore lower than what it is under in bios.

the thermal paste was put down in a verticle line. i did alot of research and people said it was the most consistent.

any thoughts?

the vcore im using for 4.8 is higher than 4.5. at 4.5 the vcore is set at 1.365 and at 4.8 the vcore it set at 1.375 and the llc level is at 7. however the 4.5 setting doesnt have the llc enabled.

thanks for the help by the way greatly apprecciated.

90C is way to hot for 4.8 and 1.375v... it's probably a improper mount of the heat sink..

remount with fresh thermal paste and see if that fixes it.
90% it was because of a bad mount

sorry mate it reaches 80 degrees not 90 for 1.375. and thats within the first few minutes of prime95 but i shall try the reseat and applying of new thermal paste.
