Because having a copper base in heatsinks is better than aluminum. Also, now the heat has to transfer to more objects through multiple layers of TIM, which is not ideal. Has anybody ever tested this, or is it just an idea that people kept latching onto and eventually became known as "fact" when it has never been proven. Just from speculating, I can think of reason why it'd work better, and reason why it'd work worse. I'm leaning towards worse, but does anybody has any legitimate facts?

I hope you just missed what is posted in post #3 here. I don't know why it is such a biggie. You can do it the way you want and think that will give you the best temperature.

Yes, I saw that his VRM were cool. However, I was asking if anyone ever compared between just the plate, just the copper sinks, and plate+sinks? If he did in that thread, I apologize, but I don't want to go page by page and check.

Thread Starter
Alright, well I tried re-installing Afterburner, and then re-installing drivers... Still does it, except now I cant get it to work right after pressing reset... Any other ideas? I just tried to re-seat the card, still no success...

Its doing something like this:

I used to be able to simply press reset in afterburner, now when I do that it doesnt work either... It worked fine before I watercooled it. The card itself never got wet, etc. Suggestions?

Last shot:

1. Reset Afterburner and uninstall, when prompted to keep the settings, seleck "no" > restart.
2. Restore to Factory Default in CCC and Uninstall > restart.
3. Install Catalyst 11.9 > restart
4. Install Afterburner 2.2.0 beta 8 > restart
