Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5 stuck in BIOS

Backstory:
So I bought some new headphones, and at the same time wanted to test out a power draw thing between my computer and the wall socket.

So I shut down the computer to move the power plug around.

Upon turning it back on I would get the normal 'everything is ok' beep from the motherboard and see the Gigabyte 333 welcome screen.. nothing more
It doesn't go further or enter BIOS.

I've tried removing ram and moving a single stick around the slots, clearing CMOS and even replacing the CMOS battery.
Even though it shouldn't make a difference I also removed graphics cards and HDD's with still no effect.

Having no graphics card or no ram still produces the normal I am missing hardware beep codes relating to what I left out.. but with it all plugged in as normal I get the single short beep and stuck on the welcome screen.

It appears as if the motherboard just suddenly suicided without reason. If there's anything else to try I'd be willing as it is a big stuff around trying to get another motherboard in there without a guarantee that its the problem.

If you took apart your rig and installed everything again,I guess your motherboard bit the dust.I had a gigabyte motherboard that was taken out working, put in static bag, just to come out not working.

Since then,I switched to asus.

The only thing I physically moved when the problem first started was the power plug in the wall socket.
The computer was on and running fine for several weeks straight with the sides of the case on.

Also last night I actually did have the battery out for an extended period of time putting a multimeter to it to test if it was still working.
I got 3.14 volts from the mobo battery and 3.47v from a brand new one which I also tested in the computer with no luck.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, keep em coming
