965 BE 4.0Ghz

Thread Starter
So, I'm trying to fine tune my 4.0Ghz OC. Took me around 4 1/2 hours last night to get a stable OC. I'm at 20X multi, 1.488v, I had to drop the NB from 2000 to 1800 to stabilize the OC and pushed the NB volts from 0.800 to 1.100v.

Any suggestions on a better method to balance this OC out? sitting at 51c during prime 95 testing.

I would recommend keeping your NB at 2000 even if it requires backing off your OC a little

Edit: I mean if you can keep a 2000 NB at 3.8 you wont notice the 200mhz the diff trust me

Push that NB.

I get MUCH better performance running a 2.4Ghz NB @ 3.8Ghz than I do with a 2Ghz NB @ 4.1Ghz. You'd be surprised how much you can gain with a combination of CPU/NB overclocking. Communicating with GPU's is one of them.

My NB is at 1.3v for 2.8GHz just for reference

So try a reduced CPU OC but instead go for a NB OC. WHat would you suggest 2400?
yeah try to maintain 2000+ NB when you lower it doesnt really matter how high your OC is based on the chip you will get better performance with 2000+ NB even if its lower OC

2400 minimum for 1600Mhz RAM. As high as possible is best though Especially because you have 1866 RAM.

I was getting unstable at 4.0Ghz and a higher NB oc. But I'll try boosting more Volts and boosting the NB up.
try lowering the OC to 3.8 for 2400 NB you wont notcie a 200 mhz drop on the chip OC
