Yeah, it's pretty much a question of making the voltage high enough to support whatever overclock you're aiming for. Most likely the reason you're seeing the instability you mentioned is because your voltage is too low. Try not to go over 55c temps too.

Just remember dont go over 1.5v on your chip trust me I settled for 4.0 at 2400NB at 1.42 because I want my chip to last atleast until I finish college I could probably go higher but I dont want to kill it with max voltage until I have too

So I tried the same 4.0Ghz OC with NB at 1.250v no go. So trying 1.3v now. Lasted a little while before. So we shall see.

Crashed. So I'm trying 1.35v on NB and reduced the OC from X20 to X19.5 for 3.9Ghz

Was holding at the current NB OC and Volts. However I broke 56c so I stop'd and went ahead and reduced volts to 1.466 down from 1.488 to see if I can keep it below 55c

I've read all across OC.net and other AMD sites. that the max temp is 62c on the AMD 965 BE. Only on the last couple weeks have I noticed people now saying 55c. Why the change?

Anyone?

its 62c for max i run my 1090t 50ish just dont go above 62c anything below that is fine but if your close to max temps back off OC a little 62c is the max but i dont go above 60c max just to make sure my chip will last for atleast a couple years

That's what I thought. I've been trying to battle below 55c. and I know that was never gonna happen..haha 60c..Now that's very possible.

I'm currently under full load prime95 testing at stable 59c..haha I'm gonna let this test a bit more, then down the Vcore a bit to reduce temps and hopefully stabilize at 55-57c during prime testing.
