Games I'll be playing: CoD, BF.

Well, I have compiled a list of parts over the months, and gonna probably buy in November or December. I'll be playing at 1080p.

500 Watts should be enough to power this + a 4.2-4.5 Ghz overclock right?

The Extreme4 Gen3 has 5 eggs and zero repeating problems that i've heard of besides problems with USB ports that can be fixed. I heard the bios is really good too. I don't even think there are any Asus boards with PCI E 3
post #4 of 14
to be honest no one really needs PCIE.
no video card maxes out PCIe 2 so there will be no difference.
I doubt any cards will need PCIe untill 2-3 gen later.

looks Like You've done your research. I've been looking for a while and it seems that you've come to the general Best "all around" choices,.

2 things to consider the Heatsink, and the PSU.

You bought a triple Pcie Motherboard, so why not buy the psu to match?
750w+ Will let you crossfire, and overclock a little more.

That heatsink is overpriced, why not pay a little more for a way better one?

ah yeah just noticed the PSU.
500W is way too less, if you dont plan to SLI then get a Corsair 650W PSU
and the cooler can be swapped for a CM Hyper 212 Evo to save a few quid.

500 watt isn't enough? I picked it because it's a very nice quality and it's 70 bucks AND has a 5 year warranty, was thinking of CX600 but the CX series is manufactured different from the TX series and such. Probably just switch it for a Earthwatts 650 when it gets restocked.

Picked TX3 for a very specific reason, and it's the same price as Hyper 212+ and judging by reviews it does just as good. I picked TX3 because of my case, it's only about 7 1/2 inches wide and the TX3 is smaller than the hyper 212+. The TX3 is about 5 inches tall while the Hyper 212+ is 6 inches tall. Depending how the far the motherboard is grounded off the case, I'm guessing about half an inch or a inch, I won't be able to fit it, or the 212+ will be touching the side panel, which I don't want. The TX3 will probably barely fit and give maybe a half inch of room between cooler and side panel. I'll try to look for a wider case for the same price, see how that goes.

Very strict budget of $850 dollars, as it sits it's around $855, not including rebates, taxes, and shipping. So when suggesting parts make sure they are the exact same price or cheaper than the one you are suggesting to replace.

Thanks for all the replies btw!

EDIT

Does this case look good? It'll fit a Hyper 212+. Just barely though i think

Your video card is out of stock...here's a 560 Ti that's actually cheaper than the former card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125401 I have heard some good things about the new Hitachi, my Samsung is working great for me but I guess you could give it a try. Also, why do you need a aftermarket heatsink? Contrary to what people will have you believe, the stock cooler is pretty decent and will keep you at or below 60c during gaming...and you won't be bottlenecking your GPU any time soon, so no need to OC. I'd say skip the cooler and get a better case with more expandiblity. I don't think that Raidmax will fit a Hyper 212 plus+, and either way I wouldn't get a Raidmax. I would recommend this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&Tpk=haf%20912
