I think I'm ready to start WCing

Hey - Sorry to create a new thread but my last one got drowned out even after a few updates. New topic and new thread XD. This is going to be my first attempt with h2o - so just let me know what I'm missing or where I could improve. I have been toying on and off about just getting the rasa rx360 kit - but I feel that I want to customize my next build as much as possible. So meh - spending a little more - whatever - I think it'll be pretty cool in the end.

This is going to be a cpu + gpu loop in a Corsair Obsidian 650D.

Res: FrozenQ Liquid Fusion V Series 250 ml Reservoir - Purple
Pump: Danger Den DD-CPX Pro
Rad: XSPC RX360
CPU Block: EK Supreme LTX CPU Liquid Cooling Block - Acetal + Electroless Nickel Plated
GPU Block: EK-FC6970 for AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6970 Series - Acetal + EN
Barbs: Bitspower Matte Black G1/4" Barb Fitting - 1/2" ID
Clamps: Primoflex Nylon Reusable Hose Clamp - Black - 5/8" OD
Fans: Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm x 25mm Fan - 1850 RPM
Fan controller: Scythe Kaze Q 3.5" 4 Channel Fan Controller (Maybe I could get by without this?)

All my components are in the mail atm. So once I get them I will put everything together and make sure it will all fit in my case and plan where it will go.

But yeah - open to suggestions (and really open to cheaper suggestions - but not at the cost of performance) because I am just dabbling in water cooling and would just like some reassurance.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I want some 7/16" ID uv reactive purple tubing - but I cannot find it anywhere... I've seen a few pics of it but yeah - no look searching.

Look into the new XSPC Raystorm? Supposed to be a really good CPU block;
And i guess you can go without the fan controller. The Ap-15's are decently quiet. But if you really want a dead silent rig then go ahead with the fan controller.
EDIT: But then again if you wanna add more fans in the future then maybe a fan controller would be ok.

I briefly looked at the XSPC Raystorm but frozenpc was currently out of stock. And I shouldn't need any kind of back plate for the cpu block? Also - am I missing any small parts at all?

I've seen a few corrosion problems as of late from people with the Electroless Nickle plated EK blocks. I'd steer well clear of anything with the words EK and nickle in them.

You will defiantly want a kill coil, or you could use pt-nuke by petra. You do not want stuff growing inside your loop. I prefer pt-nuke but a kill coil requires less maintenance.

Ahh yes - forgot about the anti-biological stuff.

How does the kill coil work? Like it's actually just a silver coil that I put somewhere?

Can't say that I like the pump, Can you fit a D5 Vario into that budget?

Barbs: Bitspower Matte Black G1/4" Barb Fitting - 1/2" ID
Clamps: Primoflex Nylon Reusable Hose Clamp - Black - 5/8" OD
7/16" ID uv reactive purple tubing - but I cannot find it anywhere... I've seen a few pics of it but yeah - no look searching.

If you get 1/2 Barbs and 7/16 Primochilli Tube you don't need clamps

Add some tubecutters to the list you cant do with out them.

Fan controller: Scythe Kaze Q 3.5" 4 Channel Fan Controller (Maybe I could get by without this?)
With GTs you need a fan control since they are so loud. I run mine at 700rpm of the 5V rail and they are barable. (I don't like fan controlers since it means more wires)

You just pop the kill coil in a tube after all the blocks or just drop it in the res.
