Looking to push my 965 even farther :D

Thread Starter
After a week of waiting on my rasa rs240 to get here from new york, I finally got everything set up, so far I've already pushed my overclock from 4.0GHz 1.385 vcore to 4.3GHz 1.51 vcore, with load temps of 41c

anyways, the reason I'm making this thread is I have a bit of a curious problem.. I can almost get 4.4 stable with 1.525v, but at that voltage it black screens and reboots while running prime95, but if i give the next voltage bump it bluescreens, which seems like it means too much voltage in my experience...

Does anybody have any thoughts on this? I've got tons of thermal headroom, so I'm pretty open to suggestions

17c, its pretty cool outside and i have my ac on full blast

Though, I replaced the stock fans in the kit with 88cfm Yate Loons, which seems like it was a pretty good idea lol

It's good up to 1.55V according to AMD, but you can always put more on. Just watch your temps. I ran a 965 on water for a couple months at 4ghz with 1.55 on a crappy 4-phase MSI board.

I'm a tad hesitant to put too much voltage through this thing.. I need it to at least last me until Piledriver comes out and my motherboard is known for its crappy vrms =\\... Is there anything besides more voltage that would help me out?

Then you won't be going any further than your current clocks.

hm... I'll consider running higher voltage..
I was considering giving my cpu-nb a heavy overclock, what kind of voltages should i stick to for that?

The CPU-NB is also good up to 1.55v, so run whatever you're comfortable with that is stable.

You can push to 1.55v if your temps are good.
