Coolermaster Extreme 700w - very VERY NOISY - Page 3

I'm a euro & not THAT familiar with euro/dollar conversions but i'm pretty sure with a budget like that you could get a Corsair AX (or a Seasonic i suppose, we don't have those overhere) with temp/load based fan control.
I bought one a few days ago and extremely pleased with it, the fan does not even spin under 20% (so during a windows/movie/whatever session it remains off), it only starts to spin (and very quietly at that) during games.

After having a fairly loud CoolerMaster myself for a few months this Corsair AX750 was definately one of the best investments i've made.

I may have solved the problem - there's a strong chance the Coolermaster Extreme 700 is not 100% responsible for the total noise i'm hearing. I've also got the MSI GTX 560 Ti Hawk and i suspect it's the culprit with the twin fans.
In the graphic card forums users have described the same type of jet engine type of noise i'm hearing.

I've now just started to use MSI Afterburner to try to tame the fans......i've plotted a less aggressive temp/fan power graph and it's helped a bit.

It can be hard to pinpoint which is the noisier component as they are facing each other with only 4 inches apart. But when i put my ear next to the psu all i think i can hear is a whoosh... a bit loud but still a whoosh. WHereas the noise i'm trying to get rid off has a higher frequency whinge type. ......could be the graphic card - yeah????

Opps sorry to Coolermaster if it's not their fault.........!!!!!

Honestly, you should still get a better PSU.
