fool software into thinking you have multiple graphics cards?

ok it probably sounds weird but i have good reason ok so ive been playing around with elcomsofts wireless security auditor and it appears in the new version since they added support for more gpu's and cpu's it wont use your hardware to full unless you set it to use the max supported i.e. i have a dualcore but it doesnt use 100% unless i set it to use 32 cpu's so i need to be able to tell it i have 2-4 gpu's so i can get the full 100% from my 1 gpu and not the limited rate im getting now

full it prefoms at 11,000-14,000 right now im getting 3,000-5,000 so with that you can hopefully see why this would be a good idea

i even tried oc'ing the gpu and the k/s doesnt go up at all (not even by 1k/s for +250mhz)

so thank you to anyone that can help

i have a GTX260M and i just want it to somehow read i have 2-4 of them (or any other supported gpu)

I dont have a clue what this program does, but I do have a clue on some things:

  1. You can't easily do this.
  2. Setting the program to use 32 CPU's on a dual-core (assuming) will simply make the program spawn 32 concurrent threads on which it does its work. If you have 32 processors, this is great because Windows will efficiently schedule each of those threads on its own CPU (or core). This doesn't work as efficiently on a dual-core because Windows now has 32 extra threads to schedule on only two cores, which means extra work for the scheduler (not to mention unnecessary context switches for little to no gain) and as a result more wasted CPU usage. Furthermore, it also decreases the chance that a thread will get a chance to run on the same CPU or core which can hurt certain benefits such as data locality. (Oops, there goes my performance down the drain... trickle trickle.)
  3. Fooling the program (it is possible, but see point 1) into thinking it has more GPU's to work with won't actually do anything. In fact, I bet it will cause it to crash, because the GPU does not physically exist. (Read: how do you run something on nothing?).
If you've got a dual-core, tell it to use 2 processors.
If you've got a single graphics card, tell it to use 1 graphics card.

If you've got four billion cores, tell it to use four billion cores.
If it still performs like crap, it's a software problem.

Trying to trick a program that it has more resources than are actually physically available is like laying out 5 troughs for an animal to eat from (it sees 5!), but then all of a sudden taking 4 of them away.

well it goes from 6,000k/s to 8,000k/s for setting it to 32 i know it creates more work but at the same time the problem is the software
somehow they programed it to need 32 threads to use 100% of a cpu rather then just supporting 32 threads
if you dont have the max hardware then it wont use 100% of any hardware and not many people have 32 cores an 4 gpu's
also the software is for WPA/WPA2 pentesting in windows so its not really a need to use just something im playing around with to learn some new things

Supporting 32 threads on a dual-core is pointless as I've said already.

If telling it to use more threads than cores that you have gives an increase in performance, then great!

It doesn't mean that it needs to *see* its maximum supported device count in order for it to take full advantage of what ever ACTUAL physically available hardware you have.

And if it does, then that is just not right.

ya thats what i was thinking it isnt right because aparently it needs to the last version of their software worked great but once it found the key it wouldnt show it to you so you have no way to know if its right or wrong so it kinda makes the whole thing pointless as far as testing goes and this new version has about a 60% speed loss for all hardware
