Asus 6950 CrossfireX Temperatures ?

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

Just wondering what the safe temperatures are for running Asus HD6950 1GB graphics cards in crossfirex ?

Idling I get about high 30's to low 40's and when running Furmark it climbs up to the mid 90's about 5 minutes into it, is that safe ? :/

Yes its safe, since you wont get to those temps in games etc.

Yes, Furmark puts a lot more stress than any game you'll see out there, you are good.

With Powertune, that difference is not nearly as big as before.

Did you get maximum spacing between the cards?

These cards don't start to throttle until 100+, so an hour or so in mid 90s is no problems.

I still like to keep them cooler, though

I've got the maximum spacing I can get from a standard crossfire bridge that came with the graphics card.

Is that spaced enough ? :/

on my CF setup, the top card which is HD 6970 runs at upto 74C under load with a fan speed of 80%

The bottom card which is a HD 6950 runs at upto 70C under load at approx 70% fan speed

Thanks for your input. I only ran the furmark test with the fan speed set to auto. I'd put it to 70% but I'm not a fan of the fan noise.

^ in that case you will see temps in 90s with furmark
