2. Who cares if the 990x has 6 cores? If no program can take advantage of that, then the 990x isn't faster. There's no proof that it is, so for now it isn't. And the only proof we have so far is that the 2600K is faster in the 90% of the cases and situations, without mentioning that it has a price-performance ratio infinitely better.
3. If you say that the 990x is faster than the 2600K because it has more features than it, then I can also say the same thing for bulldozer, but... you know what happened in the end... too many words, bla bla bla, but very few facts.

He has to be trolling. I'd like to think that one person cannot be this uninformed. R U SRS BRO?

This is going to be one pricey CPU. It doesn't have anything to compete against

Sure. It has.
Imagine the *new* server CPUs combined with dual socket mobo = FUN.

We had some lads in here building rigs with dual socket mobos and spending huge amounts of money.
If they go for the next generation server CPUs ->

If you know how to use this beast to it's potential, it will pay for itself in a day/weekend. Write it off as a business expense.... These are the echos in my head before i hit checkout.

This is possible in germany. You don`t have to be a business man to do that.
So I will buy mine and write it off.
But tbh, I don`t think that there has ever been a geezer that tried to write off a 3xSLI-dual socked mobo-32GB RAM-packed with SSDs-RAIDX rig.

I think if you present them a $2K rig -> no problem.
But $10K build ->
Unless you have your own render farm (which would mean you are a business man)

And F@H would love these CPUs! But I have to check that the electric bill won`t kill me.

You are right, step out of line with the tax man and they will find you. Sounds good to the wife though.

Like I wrote in germany this is legal. Every 3 years. So I don`t step out of line.
I am right in the line. And the tax dudes have my address - besides I am not hard to find
But I am still curious. The QX9660 wasn`t the uber CPU. So will the 3930K be also that much better?!
Otherwise I could build two I5 builds and do network rendering
