Which monitor should I choose; Dell U2311H or U2312HM? The monitor should be a good all-rounder because I'll use it for gaming and other basic stuff.
  • U2311H has CCFL backlight, U2312HM has LED. (Most people say that CCFL is better.)
  • U2311H has 10.6ms input lag, U2312HM has 0.6ms in TFT Central's review. (Is the difference noticeable?)
  • U2311H is 10€ cheaper than U2312HM.

So which monitor would be better for gaming and which has better image quality and colors?

If you game alot, buy U2312HM. That low input lag is incredible great for gaming.

Else

buy U2311H because of lower cost.

Think of it like this.

You're browsing servers in some game. Do you choose the server w/ 30ms ping or 40ms?

I went with the U2312HM.

Despite the LED backlight "issues", it's an awesome monitor. The bleeding at the corners is something you'd barely notice playing a game.

The bleeding at the corners is barely noticeable watching video and practically disappears given some distance. Who'd be watching something without reclining on their seat?

Everything's so sharp. Blurring is minimal, that you wouldn't even think it's an 8ms monitor.

I came from...

I'm very happy with my purchase, and very happy to be off my Chime.. I mean, Samsung.

Not to mention that awesome HAS stand which was first seen on a Samsung and rarely offers these days...

Yeah, it's not something you'd notice without placing the two monitors side by side.

I chose the U2312HM, and it's very sharp and everything's snappy compared to my old monitor!

The U2312HM no doubt. The LED backlight bleeding is barely noticeable even when your screen is pitch black. When there is any color on it you won't even tell.

The difference in input lag will be noticeable though. Go with the poll, we can't all be wrong.

I'd go U2312HM because of gaming but also better quality control. If you get a decent U2311H without bleeding problems, then that but safe side, the U2312HM. Both are very similar. The difference between 10 ms and no input lag won't be noticeable.
