Advice on first build

Thread Starter
Hey everyone, new member here and a water cooling noob with a few questions about my first build.

I will be building a semi ghetto wooden test bench to fit this on; not a fan of the ones currently available (too small) and acrylic in decent thickness is damn expensive!

This build will be for cooling a 6970 and overclocked 2500k, with the possibility of adding another 6970 further down the track. I'd like to get it as silent as I can:

Aquacomputer kryos HF copper
Aquacomputer nickel plated 6970 full cover
Laing DDC NOS from bmaverick
XSPC DDC top
Phobya balancer 450
Primoflex 1/2 ID
Enzotech compressions

The radiator is what I'm a little unsure of. Of whats available to me in Aus, I'm considering:
HWL Black Ice GTX 560
Phobya G changer 420
Phobya Xtreme Nova 1080
MO RA 3

I'm leaning towards the Black Ice.

1) Will it be able to support two 6970s (stock clocks) and an overclocked 2500k?

2) Should I get the Black Ice now and add another radiator into the loop if I get a 2nd 6970?

3) Should I get the Phobya Xtreme Nova or MO RA 3 just in case?

4) Is a corrosion inhibitor necessary? I was thinking of just using deionized water and a silver coil.

Decisions!! The MO RA 3 is definitely the most expensive option, about $50 over the Black Ice (which is $50 more than the G changer 420), plus fans. i remember reading reviews though that it was only a couple of degrees cooler than the GTX, partly due to how restrictive it is. I will get it though if its worth it, with low RPM fans, for silence. My previous computer had a tiny little thermaltake cpu heatsink which needed an RPM of around 5000 in summer to keep my cpu cool. Sounded like a vacuum cleaner was on permanently.

Cheers for the advice. I'll update this thread later with pics, however this won't happen for a month or two (exams looming ).

A little read about the black ice rad
LINKY
I would go with a RX360 and some AP-15s to keep the noise down.
And that rad should be all you need rule of thumb 120.1 per block

Id go for an SR1 over gtx series if you want a quieter setup. If you plan to have 2 gpus and cpu I'd go for a 480 rad just for peace of mind. Silver coil and water is all you need.

Would it be cheaper to buy 1 block and a 6990 than buying 2 blocks and 2 6970?

Thanks for the link worple, it was an interesting read. I'll probably go with the large SR1 with low RPM fans.
