BSOD code 9f on shutdown

Thread Starter
Weeks ago my sig rig started to hang on shutdown sometimes. It kept doing something and then after some minutes it went BSOD with a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE and code 9f.
Yesterday I've reinstalled Win7 from scratch and lo and behold, on the second reboot the BSOD returned.
I've tried updating the BIOS to the latest 901 this morning to no avail and now am pretty much at a loss where to look next.

Whocrashed didn't really cough up anything useful but here is the output anyway:

Are you using an external drive by any chance?

No, the only external things right now are a driver less G15, the receiver of my Pyra and that's it

I've used WinDbg from the Windows driver kit to read 2 memory dumps I had stored away with identical results as follows

Apparently the culprit is assumed to be usbhub.sys. This is pretty strange since that is microsofts own driver.
Is there any way to update that driver to some more recent version? Asus website only holds drivers for the USB3 controller which I've installed but leaves out the regular USB2 controllers.

This seem to be related to my specific board so I've made a thread here.
