What? Seriously? Hate mail is a right response? eek.gif

People can make their own decisions. I personally would never send hate mail but i'm not going to judge people who do. If sending a PM full of hate and expletives makes you feel better go right ahead.

Wait. So he didn't expect hait mail from some of the most rabid fans of computer chips?! Lol!

If someone sent me a PM full of hate i would simply laugh at it. I mean who cares. Its not like you're coming to my house and throwing rocks through my windows.

I don't think anyone should have been sending him PM's about the situation, however, discussing it in the forums should be fine and if that means someone wants to express their frustration about the marketing that is their right. Personal attacks should not be allowed, but if and I say if he made a statement that was incorrect then it's fair game to question it in a polite way. Quite honestly, if you are a vendor and you come to the forums and promote an item then you should expect the backlash when it does not live up to the claims. I remember him saying that all the pre-released benches were not accurate. He didn't specifically say they were wrong in the fact they showed BD being less than expected, but that's the natural conclusion you would get when a vendor of a product states that benches before release are wrong. On the contrary they were very accurate at depicting BD performance. Between the over hyped World record bench and the various responses leading up to the release made not only by JF-AMD, but by other respected folks on various forums, BD was expected to perform better than a 2500K and close to a 2600K. In most cases it's not even a contest. Yes, one could argue that the technology is not being utilized properly and other things, but in the end when you promote a product as much and as long as BD has been the expectation level naturally rises. In the end I think AMD has learned from this marketing mis-step and next time, regardless of performance, will not hype up the technology. They should have learned this from Nvidia and the Fermi launch and various other vendors that have made the same mistake in the past. The backlash from this launch is justified as long as it is done respectively and leaving the personal attacks out of it should be a given. In the end, no one should have pre-ordered anything BD based on the marketing, if you did then that is your mistake and hopefully you learned from it.

People shouldn't troll him that hard...
I can understand why customers are unhappy though, after investing in a new expensive mobo only to to get what they got from BD. There's probably a lot of frustration from potential customers that have been holding off on refreshing hardware that are ticked too. I wouldn't blame him for reduced activity when he's got free time from now on. Hopefully after the dust settles he's still willing to hang out smile.gif

It's people like some of you that force companies to remain silent until a product is finalized and released. For an employee to spend his free time forwarding his best information at the time to receive this kind of immature response, truly shows the immaturity of the audience. Granted, a lot of forum members are still living with their parents and cry when Christmas doesn't go their way, but one would hope for a higher level of respect than what he's been given.

Like I said, it's because of a few of you that we're kept in the dark on a lot of topics. Oh well, eventually most of you will grow up and look back at yourself with some embarrassment. The rest will continue to hold their current thought pattern and wonder why they work for minimum wage and are permanently stuck in an apartment tongue.gif

this is a case of me being wrong

lots of cpus and boards were already available months ago.

withholding information from customers is the same as being dishonest.

lots of investments from from individual buyers started pouring in when the 990 boards came out.

not cool in my book

Since none of us have ever received an inbox full of hate mail we can only imagine how upsetting it could have been for him. The internet is much easier to deal with when you're not the focus of a massive flood of hatred.

Most of us deal with a few light arguments every now and again, nothing like this.
