DK has some serious Hate/Rage issues. He no longer exists in my world, he has been thrown into the ignore hole along with a half dozen others of the same ilk on OCN. Go to the User CP button on top of the page and the ignore list is on the left about halfway down. Doing this simple thing has improved my experience here , I highly recommend doing the same if these 24/7 haters bother you.smile.gif

There's criticism and then there's a lack of class. Criticism is fine.

I think JF was speaking about people who lack class and have some twisted sense of entitlement.

That will kind of suck if he never returns.

People can bash bulldozer all they want, me included. But there is no reason
to personally assault the man via email or what-have-you.

The only people that really have a right to be upset at him and/or AMD are the ones that went out and got a new 990fx board based on the info they provided to the community. Some of those boards are not cheap. I still don't see a need for the hate mail though, or threats (which he probably got).

Regarding 990fx, you still got a better board. Not only does it support SLI, but it supports it at x16 x16. It's a better board overall, and you got a nice upgrade.

There is no excuse for being childish and attacking people.

You're missing the whole point though. They didn't all buy it because "it's a better board", they got it so they could run Bulldozer. They were misled into buying a new board. Some people (like me with a CHIV) were told that we could run BD with just a bios update. Now if it wouldn't have been compatible, I'm sure a lot of people would have went out and got a new 990fx board for Bulldozer. Being misled into buying something and then having it fall on it's face performance wise would piss me off.

Now how hard do you think it would be for them to sell those boards for anywhere near the price they paid?

I think this is the wrong way to look at it, honestly. Of course AMD is going to say whatever they think is necessary to get you to buy their product. How is this any different from any other corporation in the world? I think it's more the fault of the consumers who bought their 990FX boards in anticipation of BD without first seeing legit BD benchmarks. Needless to say, lesson learned.

The 990fx boards do run Bulldozer, though. I'm not seeing the point here. If people bought it for the sole purpose of running Bulldozer before seeing any actual benchmarks and performance, that's on them. They took a gamble and got burned. None of this is any excuse for attacking JF-AMD. It's childish, and they should be banned for doing so.

Point to Consider, if you factor in the new instructions and the power they offer, did IPc not increase ? I'd say that its not a lie, its just the question needs context.

when Jf-AMD talked to the engineering department did he ask

JF-AMD "hey did IPC increase relative to thuban"

Nameless engineer "yes it did, here and here and here"

JF-AMD "thanks nameless engineer"

context is important.

AMD claimed BD as a great performer. They even brought back the "FX" line to hype it even more. Sure there is some stupidity in buying a new board before benchmarks or even release, but AMD didn't help the situation. They are doing what businesses do best, take out money.

Of course doing that to him is pathetic and they should be banned. You still have to admit they were lied to.
