One other thing, this quote: "I am no more a liar than Paul Otellini when he said IB would ship in Q4." itself is a lie. Paul Otellini said Ivy would BEGIN PRODUCTION in Q4 and ship Q1 2012. I have googled it and can't find a single shred of evidence that Intel claimed Ivy would be here Q4.

Evidence: http://www.fudzilla.com/processors/i...mes-in-1h-2012 Quote: "The production, if Intel's CEO is a reliable source, should start in Q4 this year, 2011, while availability should be expected in 2012. This is what Paul Otellini said back at IDF 2010. "

IMO, That's one reason he shouldn't have been given permission to start all these blogs and posting on forums in the first place. That's part of the problem, not an excuse for his behavior.

barely, it was a mistake.
any other words would imply intent to decieve, which he was not doing.
He simply had the data that he had at the time.
Meanwhile as far as I know IPC for the server did increase from the previous chip which is the department John actually works in.

I've seen that excuse too. Why's he in all these enthusiast forums if that isn't his business to begin with? Didn't you ever question that?

It was not a mistake. He argued up and down here and on XS about IPC increases. There were even XS guys with the conversation in their sigs..

You have a lot of growing up to do. Nobody was lied to or deceived. If you would pull your head out of your butt long enough to smell what the rock was cooking you would see the error in your thought process. I don't see why people are getting their feelings hurt over computer parts. You have a 2500k, why do you care what bulldozer does?

He doesn't sugar coat it, AMD didn't meet their design goals regarding IPC. Also, not an unexpected response.
I actually feel sorry for JF,after all he is a rep for them, not the product designer or engineer. The blame rests squarely with the directors.

I would imagine JF is pretty hacked off aswell giving all the time(his own) that he dedicated to talking to us.

off topic question, Is XS part of OCN or something?. he states he never posted anywhere except there.

I certainly don't condone hate messages or profanity but JF-AMD has to understand how disappointing BD has been especially in light of his comments about it. I can understand him just being wrong about IPC but there were plenty of fairly snarky comments made by him directed at those of us that were skeptical of his claims at the time. Still, there is no excuse for acting like a bunch of children and cussing him out in PM.

So, we need to grow up because professionals are "making mistakes" about their products, then spreading this information (nonsense) all across the enthusiast community. That makes no sense.

I have an i5 760 (still faster than BD). Why do I care what BD does? Because I'd like to see a strong AMD. A strong AMD means a strong Intel and a win for the consumer.

If you can't see the forest for the trees, sorry.

Well, no it isn't. AFAIK he -did- post about it here though. If I'm wrong, then I'll gladly apologize.

I don't think discussing his actions are "hate messages" and I certainly haven't been using profanity. Now if people are e-mailing or PMing him directly to moan about it, I agree, they are going too far.

I also agree about the snarky comments. Referring to people who have pointed out his errors as "idiots" isn't helping his cause at all.
